چکیده

Satisfactory discrimination between the neutron and gamma components in a mixed neutron-gamma field is one of most important objectives dosimetry. One common techniques for estimating dose fields two peak method. This method has been applied using dosimeters such as LiF:Mg,Ti, but present work, 6LiF:Mg,Cu,P dosimeter used, whose thermoluminescence sensitivity much higher than LiF:Mg,Ti dosimeter, therefore, if appropriate results are achieved, it can drastically reduce estimation threshold. Applicability thermal radiation was studied. The ratio area underneath high temperature glow to dosimetry this phosphor an Am-Be 0.127, while pure ray 137Cs 0.039. calibration curves were obtained by separately irradiating chips with known doses. Results show that be used estimate contributions doses

Investigation of neutron flux by thermoluminescence dosimeters in the neutron-gamma mixed field

Introduction: Neutrons have many applications in various fields, such as medicine. The important application of neutron in medical science is in Boron Neutron Capture Therapy (BNCT). Because of this, determination of neutron dose and flux is critical for the health maintaining of workers and patients exposed to this beam. The neutron radioisotope sources produce gamma rays in ...

A Novel Neutron Dosimeter

Background: Neutron contamination in our environment can cause harmful biological effects on human body. Therefore, many efforts have been made to construct a neutron dosimeter to estimate the received dose. Objective: To design a simple neutron dosimeter. Methods: The primary dosimeter had 3He as a spherical thermal neutron detector encircled by paraffin 10 cm in radius. Then, the paraffin sph...

Thermoluminescent Detectors for Neutron Dosimetry at High Altitudes

At high altitudes in the Earth’s atmosphere cosmic-ray induced neutrons become the dominant contributors to the biologically relevant dose equivalent. Depending on the geomagnetic latitude and the solar activity cycle, neutron dose onboard aircraft amounts to about 50 to 70 % of the overall dose equivalent. Neutron detection in complexly mixed radiation environments by means of active, i.e. pow...
